June 23, 2016, Jordan: The Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Tkiyet Um Ali signed a collaborative agreement to help and support needy families in Jordan during the holy month in Ramadan.

The total number of individuals within these households is 91,550 Jordanians according to a recent study conducted by Tkiyet Um Ali. Families who will benefit from this initiative were chosen based on transparent selection criteria that involved field visits to assess situations on ground.

Mr.Iyad Al Samman, HR & External affairs Director in Jordan and Syria said, “We at Coca-Cola Jordan are pleased to partner with Tkiyet Um Ali to support the less fortunate people during the holy month of Ramadan by providing meals and refreshing beverages for them on daily basis.. This initiative gives us the opportunity to support and give back to the communities we serve.”

Tkiyet Um Ali (TUA) was founded in 2003 by Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al-Hussein to represent the first non-governmental organization to provide sustainable food support and humanitarian food aid to Jordan’s underprivileged.          

Mr. Samer Balker, Director General of Tkiyet Um Ali said: “There are many underprivileged people around the world including Jordan who live below the food poverty line. Our role as a non-profit organization is to focus our efforts to help this part of the community as much as possible. We rely on partnerships and collaborations with organizations from the private and public sectors to launch such initiatives and campaigns, and Coca-Cola has always been a big supporter and partner for us”.

 Tkiyet Um Ali and Coca Cola Bottling of Jordan have been working closely together for more to help the less fortunate people in Jordan. Their initiatives and programs have provided support to thousands of people throughout the past four years, and this partnership will continue to seek future opportunities to give a helping hand to the ones in need.
